Vikram Vedha Movie Review
Vijay Sethupathi and Madhavan starrer Vikram Vedha is out in theaters. It is always a rare sight to see two big stars come together for a movie and Vikram Vedha has indeed got double the expectation among the fans of both of them. Want to know more about the movie, continue reading.
Though Vikram Vedha is literally a gangster vs cop drama, it stands out when it comes to screenplay and the adventitious twists in the plot which unfurls at every needed point.
The film opens with some cartoon references of king Vikramadithyan and Vedhalam. Vikram (Madhavan) an encounter specialist, with his team, surrounds Vedha (Vijay Sethupathi)’s gang and kills everyone in the building.
Vedha’s brother is also killed in the encounter. The team finds him with no weapon in his hand, but Vikram who wants to dampen any problems.
Days after this incident, Vedha surrenders to police to tell Vikram a story of his evolution as a drug mafia. In no time he gets bail and leaves after planting a question in the mind of Vikram.
Later Vikram’s friend who is also an encounter specialist gets killed. Who killed him? Vedha – definitely not. The rest of the film is all about how Vikram nabs the real culprits and punish them in the climax.
What’s hot and what is not:
Two stars – Vijay Sethupathi and Madhavan were the ones who carried the entire film on their shoulders with the never seen before salt and pepper looks.
Directors of this film – Pushkar and Gayathri deserve standing ovation. Their screenplay is the first hero of the movie – not VJS or Maddy.
They have well etched the plot with limited number of characters.
Coming to the negative side.. None of the songs worked out, but the background score was top-notch.
On the whole, Vikram Vedha is a complete, suspense packed thriller. Don’t miss it.. Give it a go.
