Madras Cosmopolitan Ladies Circle 38 & Madras Cosmopolitan Round Table 94 presents ‘SuperChef Chennai Feastathon’ – A food carnival in aid of charity
On January 20, 2019, Chennai will experience its biggest signature food carnival. The ‘SuperChef Chennai Feastathon’ will be a one-of-its-kind, unprecedented festival in Chennai by the Madras Cosmopolitan Ladies Circle 38 & Madras Cosmopolitan Round Table 94. Although a variety of food festivals have begun to emerge in Chennai, this event will offer a unique encompassment of meticulously-curated, and innovative, international and local delicacies, music, entertainment, exclusive gourmet products and children’s recreational areas. The historic Amir Mahal, a landmark in the heart of the city, will be the backdrop for this carnival. All in all, a unique culinary and cultural feast for the senses awaits the entire family.
The Feastathon will showcase hand-picked and mouth-watering global cuisines and local favorites, crafted by some of the most talented chefs from across Chennai and India. It will be an unforgettable experience of delectable aromas and heavenly fare, ranging from food trucks and juice carts to out-of-the-box home bakers and the cream of Chennai’s culinary crop! All of this will be served alongside captivating, eclectic music and entertainment that will include an African band, contemporary fusion pop music artistes and a variety of other performances. The choicest of gourmet products, including fine coffee, chocolates, artisan cheeses and baked goods, will be on offer, besides a specially-designed play area for children, floating entertainment, dining areas, and more! Each dish, every product and all performances will be carefully selected by the most discerning and knowledgeable of curators.
All proceeds, i.e. 100% of the funds raised, will be utilized for charitable causes. A main focus in 2019 will be supporting Sanjeevi Primary Health Care Centre, a joint initiative of Ford India and MCRT 94. Sanjeevi has been providing free primary health care to 40 villages in, and around, Maraimalai Nagar for the past 19 years. The centre has treated around 6 lakh patients and is closely involved with the local community, hosting various specialty medical camps and programs in education, environment and hygiene awareness.
Another focus will be to change the landscape of hygiene and sanitation in girls’ schools in impoverished areas. Investment in infrastructure, such as the building of toilets, will have a direct impact in supporting education of the girl child, and in empowering them for a better future.
